C’est La Vie

One of the easiest ways to escape the Sunday crowds (and heat) in Tokyo is to jump on a train bound for Enoshima. This tiny island is about an hour south of Tokyo, the final stop on the Shonan Monorail. Although it’s still a touristy spot the steep hills and hundreds of stairs thin out the crowds considerably (so long as you’re not there during Golden week). Yesterday was the second time I’d visited Enoshima so I decided to skip the tourist sites and head straight for the rocks on the back side of the island to watch the sunset. Unfortunately I wasn’t the only one with this plan. Figures! Oh well, c’est la vie.
