Silhouette

Hello world! It’s been a while so I thought I’d come back with a bang – literally!

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt, and love, about Japan is that there’s always something to look forward to in every season; the vibrant colours of the autumn leaves, the illuminations during winter, the short but oh-so-sweet cherry blossoms in spring, and the festivals during summer. As it’s now summer these festivals are happening in every major city or suburb, usually accompanied by a firework display or two. Well, what I’ve discovered this week is that when Japan puts on a firework display they DO NOT disappoint. Standing amongst the largest crowd I’ve ever seen, watching a full hour of spectacular fireworks silhouetting the InterContinental Hotel, their exploding sounds echoing off the Landmark Tower, made for one very memorable summer night…and some pretty great photos!

Great work. I have yet to figure out how to take pictures of fireworks.
